Sportfishing
Good Times Come to Those Who Bait
With the bounty of the sea all around us — plus freshwater lakes and rivers seemingly at every turn — Yarmouth & Acadian Shores abounds with sportfishing opportunities for anglers of every age and skill level.
If you’re aged 16 or older, you must purchase a general fishing licence. Sportfishing licences can be purchased from many gas retailers, hardware, convenience, and sporting goods stores. You can also apply for a licence online through Nova Scotia’s Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture.
The seasonal licence fees for sportfishing in Nova Scotia are $27.60 for residents and $34.80 for non-residents. There is also the option to purchase a one-day licence for $13.10 for both residents and non-residents. Seniors’ seasonal fishing licences are available for a discounted price of $6.80. (All prices are CAD.)
