The Collins Heritage Conservation District delivers a strong reminder of Yarmouth’s prosperous past and prominence during the “Age of Sail” as a major center of shipping. The majority of residences within the district (31 in total) were built for ship owners and other merchants between 1875 and 1900. Several homes were also built for Master Mariners who were prominent locally, and are associated with the town’s shipping history.
